As an avid reader of old and new, I strive to connect to the book and it's author. Is the work speaking to me, at me, for me, or with me. A good book hits one or two of these a great book hits all four. Drawing a real world correlation to this work was easy. The book spoke to me with the same sex love story mixed into the struggle of a young man forcing to grow up well before his time. The struggle of the lover and his ability to maintain his individuality but still learning to live as two is one spoke right at me. Real world struggles depicted in the pages as I turned them incessantly. The for me was something unexpected as I fight back tears in a pivotal revelation that I could be the main character for a moment. The author recreated a moment in such glory and vivid imagination I was awe struck. With me as I battle my own demons and long for the one to be there even when the bad is really ugly. So, if you as me, this qualifies in my standards as a great book.Product details
